November 7, 1956 – November 28, 2025
On November 28, 2025, God whispered William…he looked up and smiled, gently closed his eyes and ended his journey on this side. He was born to the late William Howard, Sr. and Laura M. White-Cofield in Norfolk, VA. Bow was predeceased by his loving grandmothers Emma Lee Adams and Ida Ruth Moore.
William M. White is affectionately known as Boot, Bow or Bill by his family and friends. He was educated in the Norfolk Public School System. He was a 1975 graduate of Granby High School sporting number 55 jersey for the Granby Comets football team.
Bow was a 30-year employee of Shoney's, Big Boy Incorporated, where he was the General Manager and opened numerous locations until its closing. Instead of retiring, he accepted a managerial position at Wendy's, where hetransitioned smoothly into his new role and remained until his illness.
He leaves to cherish his memories, three brothers: Michael D. White; William Howard, Jr.; and Dewayne Braxton; two sisters: Elder Brenda W.Jones (Horace) and Ruth Jackson; two sons: DeShawn William Anderson, Sr (Leah) and Dennis Demar Gorham, one bonus son, Roshan Hill; two daughters: Roshanda Rene White and Casey White; eight grandchildren, Nasya Anderson, Andres Anderson, DeShawn Anderson, Jr., Aaliyah Anderson, Rianei White, Raniyah Beslow, Demarion Gorham, Journi Gorham; four great grandchildren, Demarion Gorham, Jr, Taijai Gorham, Nova Schumpert, Kaisen Page. Also, his beloved neices, Elder Toni Jones-Riddick (Conell) and Danielle Jones, nephews Daniel Jones, Michael White, Jr., Donell Jones, and Mason Jones; and a very special partner in
life, Violet Beckwith and a host of cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake.
