Chesapeake - In the early morning hour of January 6, 2007, the angel of the Lord came to call Willie J. Spratt of 565 Rivercreek Road from labor to rest.



He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He continued to serve the U.S. Government for 22 years as a "Pipefitter" at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia. He was a member of First Baptist Church Crestwood.



A farewell Salute will be held at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake on Thursday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Walter Mitchell of New Mount Olive Baptist Church, Fernwood Farm Road will be officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow the service at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
