Wolf Ruben Valmond was called home on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Ruben was born on March 18, 1982 in Boston Massachusetts to Wolf Jean Valmond and Huguette-Marie Solide.  Ruben was a Class of 2000 graduate of Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, New York. He continued his formal education at Norfolk State University and Bryant & Stratton College respectively.

Ruben began his Law Enforcement career at the Norfolk Sheriff's Office in July 2011. He served as a Norfolk Sheriff for 4 years where he spent time in the courts, jail, and SERT (Sheriff's Emergency Response Team). Ruben decided to pursue his passion and later joined the Norfolk Police Department in January 2015. Ruben was designated to the First Patrol Division with his latest assignment being the Community Resource Officer for Tidewater Gardens in the Public Housing Sector. After 4.5 years of service Ruben was offered the rare opportunity to advance his career by joining the United States Customs Border and Patrol. Ruben would be serving his community in one of the highest tiers of Law Enforcement and left for training in November 2019.

Ruben leaves to cherish his memories his wife, LaToya; his daughter Genesis, his parents; mother-in-law Joan Smith (Larry-deceased) siblings: Hughes Valmond (Kamika), Katia Valmond, Pladena Valmond, Lori-Ann Valmond, Giovani Valmond, Drudys Nicolas, Kerlee Nicolas and Gady St. Clair; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, special cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Calvary Revival Church, 5833 Poplar Hall Drive, Norfolk, where viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. the day of service. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake is in charge of arrangements.
