Wilbert Parker, 78, of the 3100 block of Hunters Glen Ct. departed this life April 18, 2008. A native of Chesapeake, he was employed with the department of the Navy for over 40 years until her retirement in 1990. He was a member of Holy Temple Ministries, where he served as a Deacon and Usher.
He is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Parker and stepdaughter, Barbara Graham. Survivors include, stepson, James Smith, five great grandchildren, Frankie Smith (Gloria) and Waverly Barrett (Mary) of Norfolk, Daniell Gambrell (James) of Chesapeake, Tracy Jacobs (Allen) of Suffolk, and Casandra Barrett (Rodell) of Chesapeake, twelve great-great grandchildren, two great-great-great child, and a host of relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Temple Ministries. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Friday from
2 pm-7pm at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake.
